I drove the Google StreetView car in southern Finland. I was responsible for mapping thousands of kilometers of Finnish roads on a timely fashion.
This job was also really international because the operation manager was traveling between Switzerland and Belgium if my memory serves. Google's about optimization and so it was with driving the car. I needed to plan my driving routes in cities and non-urban areas so that there's little as possible overlapping of routes. All help or advice and decisions came from abroad and I was given pretty free hands to work in a way I wished as long as all the required places were mapped on due time. Working for Google taught me a lot about finding the best and most optimized solutions for the problems at hand. When you got Google looking at your back you know you need to find the best possible solutions to every dilemma. It was a fun job and it was really cool being part of something relatively new (at the time). You can imagine the talks I had with people when driving that thing!
